And yes\, learning car control really happens on the track (or skid pad)\, but the more you understand and prepare off-track\, the more you’ll get out of your behind-the-wheel time. DESCRIPTION:There’s no such thing as “off-season” around here.  Join us for $50 Autocross this Saturday (January 18th) and again on February 15th\, 2025.   Any car type and drivers of all experience levels are welcome to attend this “just for fun” event. Come put your skills to the test with timed runs in a controlled and safe environment. \nRegistration is 7:00-8:00 AM on the morning of the event\, with a safety meeting at 8:00 AM. \nAutocross will be hot from 8:30 AM-12:00 PM & 1:00 PM-4:00 PM for as many runs as you can get in. \nWe’re also offering four (4) autocross runs in our C8 Corvette for $200 for anyone interested.

DESCRIPTION:It’s winter\, the holidays are over\, Mother Nature is reluctant to provide enough ice for our traditional winter schools\, and it’s 5 months before the summer driving season. What to do… \nAudi Club Northeast is excited to offer a Winter Car Control Clinic at Lime Rock Park FCP Euro Proving Grounds on Saturday\, January 25\, 2025 \n\n \nLearn new or enhance your car control skills on the FCP Euro Proving Grounds. Here\, with our instructors\, we will do traditional car control exercises and low-speed lapping. You will experience the nuances of weight transfer\, and advanced braking techniques while gaining increased confidence behind the wheel. \nNEQ’s Winter School Program is not just for hot-shoe track junkies but for their teenage children and spouses and anyone who wants to improve their  driving abilities. The entry fee provides an opportunity to hone your winter driving skills in a safe and supportive environment with skilled instructors. The fun and camaraderie…priceless! \n\n\nShould Mother Nature grace us with snow\, our versatile volunteers and instructors will turn on the low friction switch in their brains and we will have an awesome winter school!\n\n \nThe cost for each student attendee is $290. \n\nWe will allow a limited number of guests for observation and ride-a-longs. In order to maximize the experience for all attendees\, attendance is limited to 36 students plus instructors.\nThere will be a waitlist in case of cancelations. If early response is far greater than the maximum number of students\, we MAY run a lottery to determine the roster for the day. \nThis one-day event begins at an 9:00 AM with registration\, a brief driver’s meeting and classroom session. Following the classroom\, driving begins with in car instruction\, roughly from 10:00 AM – 2:00PM \nThe exercises are designed so drivers can feel the effects of vehicle dynamics as they negotiate the cones in the slalom and skid pad\, learning to correct understeer and oversteer in low friction conditions. The low-speed autocross course will give drivers the opportunity to put their newly learned skills to good use as they wind their way around the twists and turns on the versatile course. \nParticipants must have a car which is in good condition and fitted with NON-STUDDED snow or all-season tires. Consider the conditions as the event nears for which tires you want to use. We welcome all vehicle brands as well as pickup trucks and SUVs. Participants must have a valid driver’s license or learner’s permit.  All participants (and those accompanying them) should be warmly dressed\, with good boots\, a warm hat and gloves.
