The 1990s were an awkward time in clothing, music, adolescent maturation and especially in automobiles. So we've decided to take that awkwardness and partner it with some of the most challenging short tracks in FM6 to develop the "90s @ 9 Tuner Challenge Series"

6 part mini-series with Championship Race -- all cars a from a predefined list (below), limited to B-600 unless otherwise specified in the schedule. All races will be 9 laps including championship. Same points structure (2009 F1 rules) and rules as the original series.
There will be a predefined list of cars from the 1990s for 6 lucky tuners to choose from, those are:

    • 1995 VW Corrado VR6
    • 1997 Mazda RX-7
    • 1995 Ford Cobra SVT
    • 1995 BMW M5
    • 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI GSR
    • 1998 Eagle Talon TSi

Each of the tuners will "own" one of these cars, and tune it to B-600 for a track from the list below, as well as the championship race. Once the car is tuned, we'll make arrangements to have the tune available on the FM6 marketplace (special searchable keywords in the build description textGTM90STC), this will allow all of the other drivers to download your tune. Download tunes are locked and we would hope that the tune you give the group is the same one you're going to run. At each race, we will run an IROC of the car assigned to the track; this will alternate as we go through the race schedule. During the championship race the "owner" will be racing the car that they tuned for this series.

Note: This event is open to anyone that would like to participate, if you are not on the "tuners list", you will be required to download the available tune for each car/race pairing and participate as a standard IROC driver.

    1995 Volkswagen Corrado VR6 (aka "Franken-rrado")

"I can't leave well enough alone..." -- that pretty much sums up Franken-rrado, after many failed attempts at making a fast FWD car in FM6, the physics engine just doesn't live up to reality for a FWD, so why not go full-bore and create a monster.

1998 Eagle Talon TSi (aka "The Eagle-Eye Hammer Thrust")
As a kid you grew up dreaming, nay knowing, that you would one day be a famous racecar driver. You grew up modestly in a small town in Normal,Illinois, and when you turned 16 your parents were extremely generous to surprise you with a new car on your birthday! Oh the excitement! What car could it be?? You were warned it was a “fixer upper” but you didn’t care. Emotions were running through you, thoughts of racecar fame and success flashing through your head. As the garage door creaked open slowly, you stared, puzzled and slightly disappointed. What is this car….? You had only vaguely heard of the car staring out at you. Is it American? Is it Japanese? The paint had seen better days, overall not too many dents and looked to be rust free. The interior was dirty and you could barely see through the glass. You pushed up and down on the car and it creaked like an old mattress. Sigh, at least it had 4 wheels…. You circled back to the front of the car and as you began to fixate on the Eagle emblem on the hood, the gears in your head began to spin and click. You saw the potential and plans began to form. This car had once risen to glory like the great Eagle of its namesake, winning both the SCCA World Challenge and GT Touring Championship in the early 90s. Your proud ride was steeped in racing pedigree. You gazed at it contently, knowing that one day this Eagle would soar again!

Flash forward several years. You find yourself in a new city, ready to make your big debut on the racing circuit at one of the most famous tracks in the country. Circuit of the Americas. You and your car had both come a long way. A fantastic new paint job, body work, every mod you could have ever hoped for, and that beautiful new block of metal under the hood.

Helmet in hand, you slowly walk to the front of the car. You place your other hand on the Eagle emblem in silence. It's time.

It’s Saturday Morning, the sun has just risen and it’s a beautiful morning In Kent, England at the world-renowned Brands Hatch racing circuit. The birds are singing, the crickets are cricketing and you hear the burble of vintage Triumphs and Jaguars idling as they prepare for the day’s activities. You put on your driving gear and look in the mirror, you swear that’s Steve McQueen looking right back at you. It’s race day. You stroll down to the garage and open the door to pull out your E-Type for a pre-race shakedown around the paddock. The purr of the straight six is like a beautiful symphony to your ears. However, soon reality sets in. Yes, it is Saturday Morning… but it’s not sunny, and you aren’t surrounded by vintage British classics, and you don’t have an E-Type in the garage. No, you, my friend, are stuck in a downpour on a gloomy and dreary Saturday race day. Your weapon of choice for this horrific weather on this deceptively challenging track? You guessed it, an American built RWD fire-breathing V8 powered muscle car, the 1995 Ford Mustang cobra… R. the R stands for ridiculousness. I hope your will is up-to-date. Your spouse will be standing by waiting to collect what’s left of your corpse.“Cobras, with their threatening hoods and intimidating upright postures, are some of the most iconic snakes on Earth. Their elegance, prideful stance and venomous bite have made them both respected and feared. “310 hp, 378 ft/lb @ 2766 lbs.

1999 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI GSR

From the land of the rising sun, the Evo VI is saddened to know that it's bloodline will stop with it's great-great-great-grandson Evo the 10th, thus ending their line and bringing much disgrace to its family.
