Summer Bash – 5th Anniversary

This year... the story wrote itself!  (Add your comments below!)

“Sorry for the spam, but I have to give a HUGE shout out to the entire GTM crew after this weekend. Not only was the Summer Bash a huge success (great food, great driving, 24hrs of Nurburgring on TV in the paddock, lots of great camaraderie), but I was once again reminded how helpful it is to have friends like these at the track. Not 10 minutes after my Jetta broke down just outside Summit Point, Eric M, John C, Brad N, and Harry B (and someone in a sweet Renault Turbo! [member Allen R]) showed up to help. Harry offered his truck and trailer and Brad offered to drive me anywhere I wanted to go. Two hours later, my car is at NGP getting fixed and I am at home having a cold one… So big thanks to the GTM crew for doing what you do and for letting me be a part of it. I will see you at Barber!!! 😉 We now return to our regularly scheduled Slack trolling.” — Judd G [seen in the background of the picture above, checking his pants…. LOL – classic!]

  • “Anytime bro!” – Eric M
  • “Amen!” – Matt W
  • “No problem brotha, keep us updated on the cars progress. and thank you all for making this year’s #gtmsummerbash one for the record books! Here’s to another 5 years!”Brad N

“RIP to FreakShow’s unofficial record. *Hail To The Toad!!!* *1.38*
Yo @Eric M you need to wrap the toad. She deserves a reward for a near flawless weekend
That axle was your fault tho lol. Breaking axles to beat the freak”

“Thank you all GTM coaches for coming out to help. We started by being 10 coaches low to having 1:1 coverage. We couldn’t do it without your help!” – Ken E

“Home safe and sound, a full belly and GTI that’s finally off the trailer” – Brad N

Sam H – “@John R what happened to your car?”

“Was trying to replace the gasket between my turbo and downpipe and stripped the bolt and nut on one of the 2 bolts on the retaining/tension plate … I HATE this design. Wtf Ford. It’s super tight and you can’t get any leverage in there at all. The gasket is also made of the shittiest metal I’ve ever seen. It’s rough and particle board-like. Lasts 1 year before I have leaks.”John R #fullOleg.

“Home and parked on lawn. Tomorrow after work is repack truck and trailer”Mike C

“Want to thank GTM for a great event on Shenandoah this weekend! Amazing weather, good folks, and fast cars.” – Joe O

“Don’t schedule on a race weekend next year, plz”Sam H

“Thank you all for a great weekend at Summit Point.  Everything was just perfect… good group of people, the cars, the weather, the food, all of the GT Motorsports memorabilia (t-shirt design, wrist bracelets, the number decals, landyards), and the food.  I had a blast testing out my TT and my new hand controls.  I had two great coaches out there to keep me safe and make sure I kept improving.  Hopefully I didn’t let them down.  They will never admit it but I probably freaked them out driving with my hands.  At the beginning I could sense they kept looking at my legs to see when I was going to put my foot on the break.  Just kidding!  Thanks John C and Eric M for being brave enough to give me a chance to become a better driver out on the track. In case you didn’t notice I’m hooked.” – Matteo F
