Beards & Vapes #boxerfest

Share

It’s that time of the year again.  When Subaru loving fathers, from around the Mid-Atlantic, bring their Forester, WRX, and boxer powered beetles to one spot and bask in each others glow (not to mention beard cream and vape smoke). This year, the guys at Boxerfest did not disappoint. Considering the event moved from it’s traditional DC locale to the much more rural highlands of York, Pennslytucky, the turnout was quite impressive.

Aside from the locale move, there were a number of other changes.  In my opinion, one of the best additions to this years line up, was the next to constant barrage of tech sessions.  The day was filled with near back to back tech sessions from the Subaru tech scene, including Ken Kozlowski from KNS Brakes and the guys from Cobb Tuning. (below).

Subaru (Corporate’s) own offering was equally impressive.  There was an appearance of the brand new 2020 turbo Legacy and Outback, showing everyone the family car can be fun and exciting again.  The Subaru Rally Team brought a truck filled with a number of displays, showcasing their rally technology.

No Subaru event would be complete without a showcasing of loud rumble, tire squeeling, and all wheel drive dyno.  IAG Performance made a strong presentation, with a large vendor tent, tech seminars, and an All Wheel Drive dyno. From noon to the end of the day, the sounds of boxer rumble revving out punctured the sounds of the York, PA. The usual fair was a regular attraction, in terms of an all boxer autocross event. The most interesting addition, was rally drive Scott Speeds offer to take visitors around in a brand new STi, at speed, through the course.

All in all, the temperature might have been a bit high, but for bearded fathers and vaping twenty somethings, this was heaven on earth!
