Friends, Racers and VIPs… we would like to take a moment to update you with some new details on Matthew’s celebration of life.

Matthew G. Yip (1966-2021)

In case you’re reading this for the first time, as you might know Matthew had been struggling and striving through his battle with Kidney failure for many years. On 11/15/2021, we were informed that he was found at home, on the couch, in a state of eternal rest.

Memorial

We want to thank everyone for being extremely patient while waiting on this update. But, if you’ve ever spent time turning wrenches with Matthew, you know that “no project is ever simple” and same is true in this case.

Tom Newman and Matthew’s cousin Judy Dear have proposed an “open mic night” on Friday December 10th, 2021 at 8 PM EST, via ZOOM >>> https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82760390395?pwd=OVdzZjhjdndYWjNnK1BYMUlUZG5mUT09 – where you can come express your thoughts, tell stories, and share with family and friends your love for Matthew. We’ll then reuse this as part of his celebration of life planned for later in 2022 (please read on). **Please note, joining the zoom session is optional, use of video is preferred by not required, and is considered consent to be recorded.

Celebration of Life

It was Matthew’s preference that he be cremated and his ashes spread at one of his most cherished locations. But before we say goodbye to Matthew for the last time, we have made arrangements to have a Celebration of Life, at the Summit Point Motorsports Park Chapel (201 Motorsports Park Circle, Summit Point WV, 25446) the same weekend as the 1st SCCA MARRS event on March 19th, 2022. The event will be presided over by Pastor Dave Young from Bethel Lutheran Church, Winchester, VA. Mark your calendars now, save the date (using our RSVP link above), and be on the lookout for additional specific details as we get closer to the big day.
