Spending Father’s Day at the Ford House

How did you spend your father's day?

Each Father’s Day, thousands of enthusiasts return to the Ford House, home to Edsel and Eleanor Ford on scenic Lakeshore Blvd in Grosse Point, Michigan. The EyesOn Design annual Concours focuses on a design theme, and vehicle owners are invited to share their cars as part of the exhibit. This year’s featured designer was Gordon Murray and included the famous McLaren F1 supercar from 1995 which he designed. Other featured designers included Italian greats like: Ghandini, Bertoni, Pinninfarina, Giugiaro and many others.

Unlike traditional Concours d’Elegance events, judging performed by automotive designers with design language of the vehicles as criteria, not based on restoration methods or authenticity. The event attracts some of the world’s leading designers, collectors, and fans.

EyesOn Design also raises millions of dollars to support the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology (DIO). The DIO, a division of the Henry Ford Health Department of Ophthalmology, supports the visually impaired and organizes groundbreaking eye research conferences.

Below are photos we took from the event, sponsored by our new friends at M1 Concourse, in Pontiac, MI.
