I began my interest in motorized vehicles at young age, and my father was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed having me tag along. I had my first honda z50 around the age of 6, and progressed with motorcycles from there. When I was old enough for a drivers license (in NJ) I began attending BMW and Porsche Club events with my father, and went to the Skip Barber 3 day competition course at Limerock. Eventually, I was instructing for both clubs, and also some small events for Ron Fox Enterprises. My favorite track was Bridgehampton. The elevation changes were a blast and amazing view.
My first car was a 1970 BMW 2002, which began my interest in old BMWs. I still own a 1972 BMW 2002tii, which I raced in EMRA back in the early 90's.
As a career, I started out by working as a full time technician on BMW, Porsche, Audi and MB at Foreign Motors in Boston while getting a degree in Automotive Technology at Franklin Institute in Boston. Once I graduated, I got a job at Warnock Lexus in Livingston NJ, which was a brand new dealer selling a brand new marque in the US. That was about 1990. I spent 10 years working in the car business, ending up as a service manager at the largest Warnock dealer in East Hanover NJ. At that point, it was a job, not a passion.
Around 2000 (Y2k, if you remember) I decided it was time for a change. All the hoopla about Y2k make me believe that technology was the place to be, from a career standpoint. Car would be my hobby, but technology would be my career, which would make it so I could actually afford to buy a fun car. I went back to school to obtain my undergrad in Information Science and changed jobs to the technology field working for a very large professional services firm. Fast forward 17 years later and I have my Master degree and still working for the same firm.
For about 10 years, I did virtually nothing with cars. I was building houses, getting divorced and remarried, focusing on kids and other hobbies such as motorcycle touring. In 2014, we did a motorcycle trip from Anchorage to Prudhoe Bay Alaska.
Now, I'm back into track events with my 2014 Camaro. Its not a BMW, but its a pretty fun ride. Its a family activity, as my father and brother also participate, which means a lot to me. My youngest son will have his license in a few years, and I hope to teach him to drive in the same 2002tii I built almost 30 years ago!

Driving Experience:
Began HPDE's back in 1985, driving various 2002s and my father's 1978 911SC.
Limerock, Watkins Glen, Summit Point, Bridgehampton....love 'em all.
Drove at NJMP Lighting the first time a few weeks ago. Nice track, too many stupid NJ rules.
I still have several tracks on my bucket list:
Mid-Ohio
Barber Motorsports Park
COTA
Road Atlanta
Some Vehicles I've driven at the track:
2002tii - several
R5 Turbo II - interesting rear wheel drive "le car" with about 300hp and a mid-engine configuration. Turbo lag was horrible.
1974 2002 Factory Turbo - one of 1672 produced
1978 911SC - can you say TTO !
1987 Ford Taurus SHO - had the v-6 Yamaha engine, but it ate clutches too often
1988 Ford Mustang GT - this car surprised a lot of people back in those days
2012 Audi R8 - Fast car!
2014 Camaro 1LE - Lots of fun chasing Z06's !
